Statice Seeds - Deep Rose

(Limonium sinuatum) Annual. 110-120 days to maturity.

Statice, also known as Wavyleaf Sea Lavender, is an outstanding variety for both fresh and dried floral arrangements. Deep Rose Statice has deep pink blooms with white centers. Their colour stays extremely vibrant once dried, with petals that could truly be mistaken for fine tissue paper. There’s no other flower quite like Statice and this Deep Rose version is oh so pretty! Plants can grow 24-30 inches tall. Their wavy foliage is reminiscent of an underwater plant, which we also love. Tolerates both sandy and salty soil well.    

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

TIMING: Start seeds indoors 5-6 weeks before final Spring frost date OR direct sow outdoors in late Spring. Harden off seedlings  before transplanting outdoors, after risk of frost. 

GERMINATION: 14-21 days. Seeds require light to germinate. Bottom watering is best, to not disturb seeds. 

SEEDING: Sow seeds on the soil surface, tamp down gently. Space plants 12” apart. 

GROWING: Full sun. Prefers rich, well-draining soil. Plants will produce multiple flower stalks throughout the season, 
deadheading spent blooms will promote further growth. Plants can grow 2 feet tall. 

HARVESTING: For fresh or dried: Pick stalks when flowers are mostly all open. Blooms keep their vibrant colour when dried.
