(Cosmos bipinnatus) Annual. 80-90 days to maturity.

Here by the ocean’s edge, we love growing Seashell Cosmos! With fluted petals that mimic a beachcomber’s greatest seashell treasures, their blooms are made of pure joy. Their feathery foliage only adds to the whimsical feel of these plants. This Seashell Mix blooms in a range of pink shades, including: blush, rose, fuchsia and white. Cosmos are stunning in both your garden and favourite Summer floral arrangements. 

GROWING INSTRUCTIONS

TIMING: Start seeds indoors 5-7 weeks before final Spring frost OR direct sow outdoors after risk of frost has passed. Harden off seedlings before transplanting outdoors, after risk of frost.

GERMINATION: 7-14 days. Keep soil moist until germination.

SEEDING: Sow seeds on the soils surface, press gently into the soil. Space plants 12” apart.

GROWING: Full sun to partial shade. Cosmos can tolerate a variety of soil types, including nutrient poor. Plants can grow to 4-5 feet tall—light staking can be beneficial to keep stalks straight. Deadhead spent blooms regularly, this will encourage continuous growth. 

HARVESTING: Pick stalks when most blooms are partially open.
