Also known as Purple Tansy and Fiddleneck, this easy to grow annual is wonderful for attracting pollinators to your garden! Mid sized, bushy plants are adorned with beautiful, curling lavender-blue flowers.

Growth Habit: Upright, bushy growth to 2 feet with lacy fern-like foliage and curling, spiky flowers.
Sun Requirements: Full sun to part shade
Soil Preference: Average, well-drained soil
When to Plant: Direct seed every few weeks from last frost to mid-June
How to Plant: Direct sow seeds ¼” deep and cover with soil - they need darkness to germinate. Seeds will germinate in 10-20 days. Thin seedlings 6” apart.
When to Harvest: Harvest flowers in Summer and into Fall.
How to Harvest: Harvest stems when flowers are just starting to open.
Note: Some people experience a skin reaction to the plants, so as a precaution we recommend that you wear gloves when pulling out finished plants.
Uses: Bee’s friend is a beautiful, fragrant cut flower with a long vase life. In the garden, it is a pollinator extraordinaire! It is a great companion plant for the cucurbits (cucumber, squash, and melons), as it attracts pollinators and beneficial insects. Can be used as a cover crop.
