Montreal Market Melons are steeped in rich history. In the early 1900’s, they were grown extensively on the Island of Montreal and highly sought after for their incredible flavour. Rapid urbanization and the conversion of farmland to roads, this melon was thought to have gone extinct after WWII. However, Montreal Market Melon seeds were found in a seed bank in 1996, they’ve been grown back to life ever since! They have netted skin, green flesh and a sweet, yet slightly spicy flavour.
